I went from a life of homelessness, addiction, and despair to a life that is filled with joy, adventures, family, friends, love, serenity, and faith. Where my dreams have become my reality, and a purpose found to be of service to others.
I do not talk about faith much- which is interesting that Pastor Dale decided to have me work for a church haha! One thing I will say is everything good in my life is because of my Higher Power. Even when I did not want to lean on Him or go to Him for one reason or another, He remained steadfast and never left me…. even at my worst.
The coffee, naps, pranks, jokes, shenanigans, and sitting in everyone else’s “spot”. Oh and I almost forgot, knowing that the work we are doing is making a difference in so many people’s lives. I see little miracles often and those miracles aren’t just happening for the people we serve, they are happening with the wonderful staff at Lighthouse, and the Lighthouse family as a whole. I have never in my career worked for such a family-like environment, where we are encouraged, where people truly do care about your answer when they ask “how are you today”, where if time allows I can dip into a support meeting because my boss (Paster Dale) supports his staffs recovery so very much, and where I actually wake up looking forward going to work to see my Lighthouse family and our participants.
A place of love, encouragement, hope and recovery!
