Hello! My name is Claire (pictured with me is my dog, Alfie!) and I am one of the assistant pastors here at Lighthouse.
Before my employment at the church, I began coming here to work on my recovery from anorexia and other mental health issues and to grow in my spiritual journey. After volunteering with the Youth Group here, I was offered a position as a Peer Support Specialist in early 2022. While in that role, I had the opportunity to explore parts of ministry as my faith continued to deepen. That led me to my current position as an assistant pastor.
My own experience with recovery and mental health challenges has shaped my understanding and approach to ministry. I was raised in the church, but it was through my difficulties that I gained a greater understanding and appreciation for my faith, and what it means to have a relationship with God.
Outside of Lighthouse, I am a student at NDSU. In my free time, I enjoy reading, working on puzzles, and doing anything creative. However, my true passion is found in scrolling on my phone, drinking Diet Coke, lying down, and dreaming about a future as a feral adult. :)
A place of love, encouragement, hope and recovery!
